Intrusion Detection Systems

March 15th, 2008 · No Comments

Intrusion detection systems can tell if there is an unauthorised attempt to access your data. At some point your hard drive could crash and you will need to recover the data. While there are methods of data recovery that work really well, if your data has been leaked in some way then it is virtually impossible to recover. One way of preventing this happening to you is to put in place a number of things that prevent unlicensed access to your data and makes data recovery much more likely.

With the growth of the internet the number of threats to computers and personal data is growing every day. Hackers are accessing valuable information that they have no right to on a daily basis, this means that server and computer security is vital if you are to prevent data theft. Intrusion detection systems are a must if the data that is held on your company’s computers is to remain secure.

In this day and age network security is a must and intrusion detection systems can prevent hackers from accessing your data. Detection systems identify passive and active threats to a network and alert administrators as well as blocking the threat. Intrusion detection systems can either detect things that are different from what usually goes through the network as well as identifiable threats.
